Payroll Officer / HR Administrator Clerk – Century City Cape Town 4 Months Contract

Our Client a retail concern is looking to fill a contract position for a Payroll Officer & HR Administrator in Century City. MUST HAVE DONE LARGE AMOUNTS OF PAYROLL STAFF ON VIP PAYROLL

Immediately Available – Salary for Contract Position is for 4 months – Must be able to start IMMEDIATELY  

Min Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Payroll OR HR Qualification an added advantage
  • Computer Literate – Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient on VIP Payroll systems -400 to 500 staff members Permanents and Casuals – A MUST
  • Work Experience – 3 – 5 years’ experience as Payroll Officer and Human Resources Administrator
  • Experience in Payroll and Remuneration


Responsibilities: 75% Payroll

  • Responsible for the accurate processing of 400/500 payrolls on VIP Payroll Full Function
  • Responsible for third party payments, journals and SARS submissions and HR Administration
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Payroll 75% Ensure receipt of correct and accurate payroll information
  • Capture all payroll information accurately onto VIP
  • Distribution of pay slips monthly
  • Ensuring that all IRP5’S and Benefits correspondence is distributed to all staff
  • Process and print all reports, pay slips and backups from VIP payroll system after processing of salaries and wages
  • Prepare all monthly Third-Party payment schedules and external payments
  • Manage the accurate capturing of attendance registers
  • Collate monthly report of Base/Actual hours worked for all employees
  • Processing and submission of relevant journals and board reports monthly
  • Capture and report on all Leave including sick, annual and FRL, Maternity leave
  • Communication of leave accrued to all Department Managers monthly
  • Maintenance and communication of all accumulated and lost leave monthly


HR Administration 25 % HR

  • Comply with all legislation – SARS, DOL, WC
  • Communicate with all management regarding any staff queries or outstanding information to meet deadlines
  • Distribute communication regarding all Benefits to all members/employees
  • Executing and following up on all tasks given and queries relating to payroll and HR
  • File all payroll related documents monthly
  • Offer excellent service to ensure a friendly environment, adhere to all company’s non-negotiable standards

  • Develop self by attending workshops
  • Upskill self by attending training that will improve input to the HR team
